DAF Professional successfully achieves remarkably low latency feedback, even when running in the background. This well-established speech and language therapy tool known as Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF) works by modifying a person's auditory feedback loop, leading to a slower speaking rate.

Originally tailored for individuals who stutter, DAF has proven effective for people with other speech challenges, such as Parkinson's Disease (Downie et al., 1981; Dagenaise, Outhwood & Lee, 1998; Lowit et al., 2006 and most recently Lowit et al., 2010).

For individuals with various medical speech conditions, DAF may also offer benefits; however, clinical research on these specific groups is yet to be conducted.

Please note that when using Bluetooth devices, there is an additional 60ms delay in the feedback system. If you're using a Bluetooth headset, ensure it's turned on after opening the app for proper functionality.

DAF Professional excels in working seamlessly in the background or when the screen is turned off. However, like all similar apps, it does not function during phone calls or while other media apps are playing simultaneously.
